He says…
I am a 44 year old “happily-unmarried” male living in north GTA (Greater Toronto Area) Ontario, Canada. I have two children of my own and my partner has three. Two of hers live with us and every other weekend we have the full house plus some of the kid’s friends!! Structured pandamoneum.
I am a very friendly, easy-going, open-minded, sociable, humorous individual. I have a live and let live philosophy, not getting too concerned with how others live their lives, providing it does not intrude in any great negative way on my own. I am not overly opinionated, preferring to base decisions on facts rather than opinions. I find some people’s undying commitment to something intangible such as a vague opinion…funny yet sad.
I am a generally happy person but I find I get bored easily. I need almost constant mental stimulation to keep me balanced. I find sometimes that when things are too good…it will equate to boring in my mind. I like writing in this blog but I find it one sided. I hope with time there is greater interpersonal contact.
I am intelligent yet uneducated, creative and intuitive and prefer to impress myself before others.
I spend most of my spare time working around the house. I am a self-taught expert when it comes to home design, repair, interior/exterior decorating, landscaping, gardening, etc.
I have a penchant for Victorian architecture and design and natural-looking landscaping as opposed to modern. I prefer country design as opposed to modern, wood and linen as opposed to plastic and steel.
I have an adoration for old houses, have renovated some, have built one reproduction and love the charm they exude.
I was born and raised in a small town and still prefer the “peace of mind” and serenity that a smaller locale offers.
I like going to places like Niagara-on-the-Lake, St. Jacobs etc. and staying in a bed & breakfast or some place with history associated with it. I appreciate good food and fine dining.
For entertainment I like to watch movies, however my television watching is minimal. I like most anything with the exception of gratuitous slashing movies. My favourites are suspenseful horror and science fiction. I do get dragged to chick flicks occasionally but avoid them as I tend to get teary-eyed as well…not good for the male ego.
I dabble in photography, primarily taking pictures for use in my web projects.
I am a self-taught and pretty good web designer. I do a lot of personal work and have made a few dollars on the side with some commercial projects.
I tend to like to surround myself with the essence of romance. I like antiques, candles, fireplaces, flowers, fine wines, dinners at a fancy restaurant, live shows. Once again the old houses and Victoriana offer great appeal.
My musical tastes are wildly varied from classical to heavy metal. I tend to download MP3’s instead of buying as I prefer specific songs as opposed of following any given artist. I would say the only genre I have not as yet acquired a taste for is opera.
I am not much of a reader. I read scientific, factual based information in order to learn more about a given subject but reading as a hobby is not for me. If I cannot learn something from it…I don’t read it.
I prefer to be outside more than in. In the summer I like to go camping, hiking, boating and in the winter, hiking and skiing.
I am a touchy person. I don’t have to sit on my partner’s lap but holding hands and ongoing casual touch is important. Kissing is great. Sexually, I am more open-minded in thought than in practice. There are many areas that I have allowed my thoughts to venture but either trough lack of an open-minded partner or fear of crossing my own limits…most remain just a fantasy.
My personal interests (areas that I like to study, discuss, read about) are psychology, philosophy, sociology, sexuality and relationship in general. Emerging sciences, astronomy and the paranormal also are cause for some fascination.
